2026年、丙午（ひのえうま）の年が明け、早くも一ヶ月が過ぎました。 

今年は例年以上に全国的に極寒が続いておりますが、皆様いかがお過ごしでしょうか。

東京出張での新幹線利用の際は、関ケ原の積雪によるダイヤの乱れを例年以上に警戒しなければなりません。

この厳しい寒さは、単なる気候の変動にとどまらず、現在の日本経済が直面している「厳冬」を象徴しているかのようでもあります。

A month has already passed since the start of 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse (Hinoe-uma). 

This winter feels exceptionally harsh across the country, even more so than in previous years.

On my business trips to Tokyo, 

I find myself more vigilant than ever regarding Shinkansen delays caused by the heavy snowfalls in the Sekigahara region. 

This bitter cold seems to symbolize not just the weather, but the "economic winter" that Japan is currently facing.

それにしても、現在の国内における価格高騰は異常。

とりわけ建設物価の急騰は著しく、私たちの業界に非常に大きな影響を及ぼしています。

本来であれば、物価上昇に伴って国民の所得も倍増し、諸外国にいち早く追いつくことが理想ですが、

現実はなかなかそのようにはいきません。

The current surge in prices within Japan is nothing short of abnormal. 

In particular, the escalation of construction costs has reached a critical level. Ideally, 

national income should double in tandem with these rising prices to quickly catch up with international standards; 

however, reality does not always align with such ideals.

こうした理想と現実の乖離に直面する今だからこそ、我々は設計技術者として、安易に悲観するのではなく、

地に足をつけた「強い日本人」でありたい。

そうした矜持を胸に、本年もたゆまず前進したいと思います。

Precisely because we are faced with this gap between the ideal and the reality, 

we, as Architect engineers, refuse to fall into easy pessimism. 

We strive to remain steadfast and grounded—upholding the resilience of the Japanese spirit. 

With this pride, we are committed to moving forward steadily throughout the year.

振り返れば、法人格として建築設計、技術コンサルティングの世界に出て、今、８期目を迎えています。

気付けば、１０周年の節目がぼんやりと見えてまいりました。

お客様やパートナーメンバーの皆さまのご理解とご協力のおかげであると心から感謝しております。

Looking back, we are now in our eighth term in the world of architectural design and technical consulting as a legal entity.

I realise that the 10th anniversary is now dimly in sight.

We are sincerely grateful to our customers and partner members for their understanding and cooperation.

日本経済をみれば、一定の成長はみられるものの、世界と対比するとまだまだ遅れをとっており

”失われた３０年”を取り返すには、まだまだ道半ばです。

建設業界は３０年どころか、５０年くらい失っているかもしれません。

半世紀前の常識がまだまだ通用する業界。自虐的にそう思っています。

やることは、山ほどあります。変えるべきことも山ほどあります。

The Japanese economy has shown some growth, but still lags behind the other countries of the world.

Japan still has a long way to go to make up for the ‘lost 30 years’.

The construction industry may have lost 50 years, not 30.

The industry is still in a state where the common sense of half a century ago still prevails. I think so in a self-deprecating way.

There is a lot of work to be done. There is also a lot to change.

しっかりと過去を見つめ、反省すべきは反省し、微力を重ね、一歩ずつ他産業や世界に追いつきたいと思います。

技術、知識、経験に加えて、斬新さや実行力を高めて、

我々のような小規模集団でも、大きな変革をもたらすことができることを、証明したいと思っています。

We will look firmly at the past, reflect on what needs to be reflected on, and step by step catch up with other industries and the world by building on our meagre efforts.

With more skill, knowledge and experience, but also with more novelty and execution,

I would like to prove that even a small group like us can make a big difference.
